Lost & Found

Missing: Baby

A brown- eyed girl who loves to give kisses and snuggles. Calls her brother Boo Boo and her daddy, Daddin. Little Momma to all that come into her house.

Chubby little belly with roly little thighs and sweet cheeks.

Sings "Happy Birthday" with gusto and with an added " cha-cha-cha".

Takes two naps a day.

Eats all her dinner.

Found: Toddler

A little lady who has to wear hair clips or pigtails or else her bangs will go directly into her nose and stick to her face.

Favorite words: Mine. Why? Mine. Why? NO. Mine. Why? NO. Mine. Why?

Naps, optional.

Sharing, also optional.

Stolen toys, ripped Pokemon cards and giggles.

Running away in an open space, no matter where, which is hilarious...to her.

Sings " Oh, Baby, Baby" from Salt N Peppa's "Push It" thanks to the Geico commercial. It is actually hilarious, and slightly embarrassing when belted out in Target.

Eater of snacks, not dinner, and only half of the said snack.

Decidedly independent.

I seem to have lost my baby.  However, I have found a toddler. If anyone can tell me how this happens, I am all ears.* The toddler is cute and funny and loving and silly...so, I guess we will keep the toddler.

*I actually know how it happens. I  keep telling those kids to stop growing up and they never listen. Time stops for no man, or baby...no matter what you do.

For the Mommas

This crazy crew made me a Momma.
I am so thankful.
They are my greatest joy, my greatest gifts and my greatest responsibility.
Raising them is awe inspiring, gravely serious and overwhelmingly fun.
I am so thankful for my Jack, my Colin and my Macy.

I would never be able to do even half a decent job at this thing called Motherhood, if it were not taught, reflected and shown to my by these amazing women. Each and everyone of these ladies have been an inspiration to me. Thank you for being such a great example of Godly, loving Mothers.

From Left to Right: My Grandma, my Mom, baby Jack, me, my Mother -in- law and Ryan's Grandma

So, Happy Mother's day to all the mommas, whether biological or adopted in one form or another.
May your day be filled with Love and Laughter!

Friday Favorites

I didn't plan on not posting for well over a month. But after a computer crash, Easter, the start of soccer and daily life, the days slipped into weeks and all of a sudden, another month is upon us.

But on this extra warm 80 degree Friday, these are a few of my favorite things.

1. Macy's nicknames.

Our little lady is 19 months old now and talking up a storm. She has called Ryan "Daddin" for awhile now. She knows how to say Dad, Daddy and Dadda...but she prefers to call him Daddin.

Her latest nickname is for Colin. Once again, she has called him "Colin" for quite awhile now, but one day, she just started calling him Boo Boo. It may have been transitioned from Brother...but now, 80% of the time, she will only refer to Colin as Boo Boo. It is hilarious. Colin, however, is not so pleased. He is pretty patient with her, but will tell us to not call him Boo Boo, only Macy can do that.

2. Watching the boys play soccer.

Both boys are back on their old team, which is great for the undefeated Colin and bad for the have yet to win a game or score a goal Jack. They both love it and except for one freak cold snap, we have had perfect outdoor soccer weather!

3. Kid-free trips.

Ryan and I were lucky enough to be able to take a quick trip to Chicago without the kids. It was the first kid free trip that we have had since long before Macy was born. We did a lot of eating, walking and shopping. It was a much needed, relaxing trip. I hope we can sneak away again soon!

4. Movie dates with my boys!

I was able to take Jack and Colin to see the movie Home during Spreak Break. It was a surprisingly sweet movie and I loved spending time with the boys. Now if I could just find a sitter for the Avengers movie with the biggest boy...

Colin and Oh, the main character of Home.

5. Kissing (and sometimes pushing) Cousins

We had my nephew and niece over for a few days and it was fun chaos. One thing that was constant was the great love that Macy has for her little cousin, Elliot, or as Macy calls him, Eyener. He was given many, many kisses and a few hugs that may have looked more like body slams. While the love between Macy and her 2 yr old cousin Audrey wavers with the toys involved, the love of Eyener remains true...until he can reach and take those toys.

Happy Friday!
