"Well, Who Is It?"

I was at a 5 year old girl's birthday party the other week and she came up to me, staring questioningly at my burgeoning belly.

"What's in your stomach?" she asked.

"There is a baby in there" I told her.

" Well, who is it?" she asked.

It was a good question. Just who is this baby growing in my belly?

We will find out a major clue this week. The big gender revealing ultrasound. Will it be a girl or will it be a boy?

Jack votes girl. He already has a brother, he does not need another one. He does not have a sister, so it must be a girl.

Colin votes boy. He is a boy, Jack is a boy, his daddy is boy. It should, also, be a boy.

I am not voting, as I have mixed feeling, one day thinking boy, the other thinking girl.

Ryan won't vote either. He is staying neutral on it all.

So, who will this baby be? A girl baby or a boy baby.

Some little facts for the decision making:

~The baby's heart rate was around 140 the last check up. Both boys were in the high 150s.

~ I crave spicy and savory things over sweets. Vinegar based foods, spicy hummus with crackers, sparkling water, stuff like that. According to Ryan, the weirdest thing I have eaten from all the pregnancies is mashed potatoes with mustard. He thinks it is weird. I like the vinegary tang to it. Maybe after the baby is born it will sound weird, right now, it sounds delicious.

~I am carrying about the same as the boys, though I feel wider and bigger...but I always feel wider and bigger when pregnant.

~ I have had much drier skin with this
pregnancy over the others.

So there you have it. What is your guess?

Baby boy?

Baby girl?

Around 19 weeks.
Probably the last belly photo you will see ;)

The Boss

A lunchtime conversation with Jack.

"Mom. When Dad is gone, I am the boss."

"No. I am the boss."

"Well, when Dad is gone I am the second boss."

"Maybe. We'll see."

"Well than, I am the boss of Colin."

"No. I am the boss of Colin."

"I am the boss of my room."

"No, I am the boss of your room."

" Fine. Than I am the boss of Kitty."

" I don't think anyone is the boss of the cat."

"I AM the boss of Teddy."

"Yes, you are the boss of Teddy."

"God is the boss of you, Mom. God is the boss of everyone."

" I know."

"Can I have some dessert?"

" Yes, when you finish all your lunch, you may have a cookie."

" O.k. I will eat all my food and than I will get TWO cookies."

Lunch is never boring when you dine with The Great Negotiator.
