One Photo Style

Mrs. B from Starcrossed Blogger posts wonderful photos all the time. She has a great style and posted this little contest. You are supposed to post one photo that describes your style. Fun, right? Well, i am not quite sure what my style is. I am not too good at the whole home decorating thing. I can see something and like it or hate it, but i can't seem to take that idea and make it work for my house.
I like clean lines, lots of photos and pops of color, but not too much color. So, i looked around a bit and found this photo. What do you think?

I like the cool grey color on the wall and the collage of black and white photos. I love the green floral print. I like the candles combined with the florals on the marvelous andover table. I really love that table. I also love the hardwood floors. So, while it may be a bit simple, i like everything about it. I guess you could say, this is my style.

What is your style? Post one photo and let me know!

Consider yourself tagged...

The end of an era...

My friend and fellow producer moved to Nashville today. It is weird. It has only been the three of us at work, than i had a baby and work from home and now Dave moved to Nashville. We will still all work together, just remotely, one at home, one in the office, one in Nashville.

We got together with our old One Cubed boss, some close friends and the significant others one last time at the Flick house. We have been meeting once every two months for the last few years. We talk and eat and laugh. We play monster tag with the kids, who ask to start playing the moment we walk in the door. Monster tag is a game of chasing the kids and screaming, catching them and throwing them on the couch. Very tiring. They love it. Once we have all gorged ourselves with food, the boys head to the living room for some xbox, the kids head to bed, and the ladies stay in the kitchen and talk, usually about babies, pregnancy and kids. On special days, we dance. We dance to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's step by step Augustus Gloop dance. See, lots of fun.
Our get togethers are wonderful and homey. We all look forward to it. We will greatly miss Dave. He is the favorite monster and the best xbox player. We might be able to get him back once in a great while, but it is the end of the one cubed team era...
Here we all are. We are missing two babies and the photographer, April...It is like my own Virginia Beach family.

My World

I spent a week in Kalamazoo, MI taping 4 great testimonies for the television show that i work for. They are shot in first person form and are pretty edgy. They are not your grandparents style of testimonies. I am getting all my footage digitized as i type and am going to start going to work putting them together. It will take me a few month to book the time and finish them, but here is a sneak peak.
Meet Lara~ Adopted and overcame eating disorders. Beautiful, isn't she?
Meet Abbey~ A born musician who brings people into the presence of the Lord with her music. Check her out at abbeyandrew.com
Meet Ituha~ Born in the Bronx, anything that could go wrong did, but he found restoration and forgiveness.
Meet Kurt~ Made Jesus the Lord of his life and overcame his meth addiction.

A little bit of laughing ~ For Auntie Crystal

One of my best friends from college, Crystal, lives in Spain. She is a missionary associate with IMM, a video based ministry. She has not met my little man. She came to visit us right before Jack made his debut, but could not make it to see him before she flew away for 2 years. She has been asking for videos of Jack for a LONG time. She has been asking to see Jack laugh for a LONG time. I have the videos, but i also do not have a nice enough computer that is capable of editing my dvcam tapes directly from my camcorder. It is an old camcorder and very picky. SO, here is a short video from my little digital camera. It is short due to my space available, but it is cute. Jack had just arrived in Michigan, was beyond tired, and thought it was so very very very funny when my Mom tried to fix the hinge of her playpen.

Check it out for yourself!

Home Sweet Home

I am back in Virginia Beach and i am TIRED! It was a good 12 days, but it was busy with lots of family and lots and lots of work. Too much work for my taste! Jack did not sleep that well at night, so that added to the exhaustion. I will blog more about my trip later, but here are the highlights.

~ Jack visted his 4 grandparents, 5 great grandparents, aunt, 2 uncles, 4 cousins plus more family.

~ I had a shamrock shake. I have not had one in 2 years because Virginia does not even know what one is! So, that was a highlight to me!

~ I completed 4 My World testimonies and i kept all my appendenges.

~ I shot 3 stories outside in freezing tempatures. 6+ hours outside is not fun.

~ Jack got his first haircute before the trip

~ Jack is army crawling all over and will shortly be up on hands and knees.

~ Jack's fifth tooth came through

~ I got to shop at Paperdoll :)

~ Jack went swimming for the first time and loved it! He is a little fish, just like his momma. He was fearless in the water.

It is great to be home and back to my hubby. I missed him a lot! He is wonderful and i came home to a clean house. He did the laundry and even put my clothes away. My bathrooms were scrubbed. He went grocery shopping and even cut up the veggies. I even came home to two presents. He bought me a hoodie and a shirt that he thought i would like. How sweet is that? With results like those, I just might need to go away more often...

And just because he was so stinkin cute...here is my little man about ready to take a dip!

March Madness

March is a big travel month for me. March and April. I travel lots and lots these months. Why March? I really don't know why, it just always turns out that way. I am not a huge March fan. I find the month to be quite ugly. It no longer has the clean winter feel and not yet that fresh spring touch is also missing. It is rather dull, lifeless and boring. So, i travel in March. Last March i was in Budapest,Hungary and Kiev, Ukraine. I was also 6 months pregnant. While my travels will be less miles and scenery, it will have it's own form of adventure.

This March, i have an 8 month old and will be heading to Michigan to produce 4 new My World stories. I can do a production trip only because my family is willing to watch my little man while his momma works. Believe me, i did not need to twist their arm to get them to watch the little guy:). It will be lots of work, but i do miss producing and being in the field. Paperwork only has so much charm. So, i leave Wednesday for the the frozen tundra of Michigan, armed with a squirming baby and a prayer. Any travel advice for flying with an 8 month old alone?

Oh, before i forget... NashVegas is never far off on my travel list. I spent 6 weeks there last year, so of course, i had to travel to the Ville in March. I am. Tomorrow. For one single day. Yep, i am boarding a plane all ALONE and going to Nashville for a half day of production in our studio to shoot our new pilot. ( Same show, different format, lots of changes, lots of work) Than it is off to a music studio with some behind the scenes footage and an interview with Britt Nicole. She is recording her sophmore album, and we are off to her studio in the afternoon. I will be back aboard a plane by 6:30pm central time and on my way home to Norfolk, VA. I will be gone from the babe, and from the hub for a full 16 hours. Daddy is taking the day off and working from home. We shall see how much work he gets done. That is a lot of Jack/Daddy time with no other person to come to the rescue. Pray for Jack. Pray for Ryan. Pray i make all my flights. It will be an interesting day...

So, i am off to pack, clean and prepare for my own form of March Madness...

Bon Voyage!
