Jack does Nashville

Jack took on Nashville last week. He came and he conquered.

He sat down for a few GMA interviews that week.

He also sat down to host a few One Cubed segments down at the One Cubed studios. He wants to be the next blonde host.

After a hard day's work at the studio, he and Daddy went for a dip

He is a high roller, so he checked out the views from the 24th floor of the Reniassance Hotel. Downtown looks good from up there.

He checked out LP stadium, where the Colts will decimate the Titans this season. Sweet.

Hanging out at the Cheekwood Botanical Gardens was hard work. Time for a snooze.

Tried to make friends with the grass. Not happening.

Checked out the Opryland Hotel and all it folage.

Jack was embarressed that his dad took this picture, and that his mom thought it was funny.

The End.

GivMusic: Bluetree - God of this City

God of This City

I spent the last two days interviewing Christian music artists from all over the word during GMA week. It is probably my favorite part of my job.I had some good interviews, some great interviews and some not so great interviews. I got to interview Jars of Clay, who has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I found out that i was interviewing Reuben Morgan, worship leader of Hillsong Australia 2 minutes before i walked into the interview with absolutely NO questions prepped...thanks to a mistake by their publicist. Turned out well, but not my greatest interview by any means. But hands down, without a doubt, my favorite interview was 5 guys from Northern Ireland that form the band Blue Tree. Never heard of them? Well, chances are if you have been to pretty much any evangelical church in the last year, you have heard their song, God of This City. Thought that was a Chris Tomlin song, or Passion? They covered it. Blue Tree wrote it.

So, why was this my favorite interview this year? Why did 5 crazy funny witty Irishmen who spoke with a heavy Irish brogues bring me to tears in the middle of my interview with their story that i knew about, that i asked them about? Because when they focused in and talked to me about a city in Thailand, the presence of the Lord came down and broke my heart.

The band went to Thailand on a missions trip. They headed out to a city that was known for prostitution, child sex trading and everything perverse. Thousands of prostitutes lined the streets and western men would come looking for any sexual perversion imaginable. The band decided that they wanted to play more in the city. Amazingly, they were able to play in a bar called The Climax that was right in the middle of a street filled with brothels if they brought 30 of their friends and those friends all bought a coke, which cost more than alcohol. They were given a 2 hour spot and they played and worship the Lord in a city that was populated only by the sex trade. While they were praying they felt an open heaven and began to pray for everyone in that city, including those who came for the sex. The lead singer began to sing over the city. Greater things are still to come to for that city...that city. The city designed for the sex trade. God is still the God of that city.

My little story does not do any justice to what i heard, but it is a bit of a sampling. They now are advocates for child trafficking and have their own non-profit organization. Amazing.

Check them out in the post below.

I am outta here!

Tomorrow. I leave for Nashville with the babe. Hubby will follow the next day. It is April and that means GMA. The Gospel Music Association week that finales with the Dove awards, the Grammys of Christian music. I will also spend a few days in the studio. Ryan will have daddy duty while i work. After 35+ artist interviews, 3 label dinners plus lots of showcases and a 2 days spent in the studio with our Brazilian and Spanish host, i am going to RELAX...

Yep, i am taking a vacation in Nashville. Ryan has never been there and i am so excited for him to see my "other" life, the producer life. And for the first time, i get to explore Nashville and NOT work. I am looking forward to it.

So, i am off to pack and finish my interview questions. Vacation is coming... i can make it through this week...

How He Loves Us

So, while i was writing my previous blog, this song just kept playing in my head. It is moving and touching and the absolute PERFECT song for Easter, or any day for that matter.

Just in case you didn't get all of the lyrics here they are...

Read them, mediate on them and think about what Easter really means.

How He Loves Us
by John Mark Mcmillan

Verse 1:He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

Pre-Chorus:And oh, how He loves us all,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all

Chorus 1:Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

Verse 2:We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
So Heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss,
And the heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain this regrets,
When I think about, the way…

Chorus 2:He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

Easter is the greatest show of love possible. Ever. Completely.

Jesus overcame death to free us from our sins. Why? Because he loved us. He loves us wholly, completely and freely. He came to this earth, died on the cross, bore our sins and our punishment out of love. Pure love.

No one desires this type of love. No one. It does not matter though. We don' t get to decide who gets such a love and who doesn't. Jesus made that decision on the cross. Everyone is loved that much. Everyone.

Easter is more than candy and eggs and spring. It is about complete and whole LOVE that the world has never ever experienced before, now or ever to be.

Have you experienced that love yet?

I went to get Jack up from his nap this morning. I heard him talking, than it was strangely quiet. Too quiet. I thought he fell back asleep. This is what i found...

He was VERY proud of himself. He did not stop grinning, even when i went and grabbed the camera.

Trouble i tell, pure trouble...

9 months!

Baby boy turned 9 months old on Saturday! He is getting so big! I can believe how fast he has grown. He is my little adventurer these days.

His newest tricks are....

~ He can crawl up on all fours! He does not do it all the time, but he can definitely move. He does a half arm crawl, half up on all fours. He is much faster on his belly, so when he wants to move, he drops down and wiggles his way there.

~ He can pull himself up to standing! He is doing it more and more. His favorite thing to pull up on? His momma. If i lay on the floor with him, he crawls all over me and pulls up to standing.

~ He has 6 teeth! The sixth one is making its way down and making for one crabby little man...

~ He will crinkle his nose when he smiles now. It is silly. It makes his smile crooked. It is adorable. He only does it when he is really happy or being really silly. Cute.

My little man is getting bigger and bigger and i love him more and more.

Happy Nine Months, Jack!
